About East Baltimore Development, Inc.

It's About Partnerships...

This revitalization project has received wide interest from State and local government, elected officials, foundations, business and community leaders as a strategy to improve housing and living conditions in East Baltimore. In July 2003, EBDI received $21 million in federal funds to begin acquiring properties and relocating residents and to begin the development process.

EBDI represents a public/private partnership that has also received funding from the following sources:

 Baltimore City Government

Johns Hopkins Institutions

The Annie E. Casey Foundation

The Greater Baltimore Committee

Maryland State Government

These partners have joined forces to redevelop East Baltimore consistent with the plan approved by Baltimore’s City Council.  It works closely with residents, community groups, business, government and the community to ensure that economic, housing, and human service opportunities in East Baltimore are available and accessible as it works to restore it to a thriving community.
