SPECIAL INITIATIVES
The
88-acre, $1.8 billion urban redevelopment effort is about
more than building shiny new buildings, or the infusion of
significant new business activity. It is about providing
significant changes in the lives and outcomes of both former
and new residents who will live in the New Eastside. It’s
also about strengthening families, building new homes, and
creating new jobs.
To realize this
vision, EBDI has engaged in a number of special initiatives
addressing many issues, including educational, workforce and
employment, and financial literacy needs. Many of these
initiatives enhance and build on existing partnerships,
including businesses, civic leaders, community-based
organizations, churches, and other key groups.
